The classroom!

After countless hours through the middle of the night, I got my classroom finished just in time for Meet the Teacher night! Here's a peek into my world:

I've had this alphabet strip since I started teaching and absolutely love it! When we put it up, it felt like coming home...

More of my favorite things - my color bears and Winnie the Pooh pillows.

This picture makes my heart smile with glee! I needed a way to organize my large book collection, so the sweet hubster built me a custom bookcase! He spent long hours, worked late into the night, and gave up time in his room just to make sure this got done. Isn't he fantastic?!?!

Two shots of the room! It's been moved around 16 times since school started, but this is the original arrangement and still my favorite...

My meeting board that already needs updating! :)

My desk, a work table, and my sassy red purse!

This isn't my school at all. It's DJ's! Isn't it beautiful? And huge? His classroom is in the very last hallway way down on the right. I was standing about halfway down the hall when I took this picture. And that's just the new wing! :) You should see the hike he has to take just to get to the tennis office. He's lost over 10 pounds the first week of school.

So there's a glimpse into our life as it stands right now. I need to finish my coffee and eat my breakfast so I can get moving on the day!

Back to School

It's official! It's that time of year again. Today, DJ starts inservice and mine starts tomorrow. Last week was new teacher orientation and it completely wore us both out! We spent nearly every night working in my classroom in order to get it ready for the new year. As soon as we finish, I'll post pictures. This is officially the craziest time of the year for us (way busier than the Christmas season!) and we will continue to stay busy for weeks to come. I'll update when I can, but no promises. Until then, enjoy this glorious time of year and go smell a bouquet of freshly sharpened pencils or brand new crayons. There's nothing else quite like it!
